American Express cardholders get free access to Point.me

American Express has teamed up with Point.me to enhance the utilization of your Amex Reward Points. As of March of this year, American Express cardholders can enjoy complimentary access to Point.me. Point.me is a tool that allows you to quickly search for ways to use your points to redeem plane tickets via the 20 airline transfer partners. This tool offers a valuable resource for discovering optimal redemption options. To begin, simply visit amex.point.me and log in using your Amex credentials.

My thoughts

Although I find Point.me a little slow to use, it is one of the most beginner-friendly reward seat finders out there. One of the complexities of playing the points game is knowing the best way to transfer your points to get the most value. This tool walk through the entire redemption process step by step.

This tool is indispensable for people just starting on their credit card point journey and people who do not want to learn the various intricacies of which accounts they need and how to transfer the points.

I wonder if we will see other card issuers like Chase and Citi partner with other tools out there. I could see the accessibility making these reward seats harder to come by. What are your thoughts on this partnership?
